The Pitt Street Market

Edinburgh has been treating us to some gorgeous weather lately - lovely long days filled with sunshine and blue skies. Dare I say it? *whispers* I think summer might be on the way! I've had a few messages on Instagram lately asking for recommendations for things to do in the summer in Edinburgh so I thought I'd share one of my favourite hidden gems... The Pitt street market.

Leith's Finest

Tucked away in a suitably grungy Leith industrial yard, The Pitt is open every Saturday during the summer from 12-2pm. It's a little off the beaten track but it's well worth straying, trust me. Every week The Pitt plays host to some of Scotland's finest street food vendors, all offering a delicious array of culinary delights. Add in a well-stocked bar, delicious cocktails and live music and you're set for a Saturday well-spent in the sunshine.

Visiting The Pitt Street Market

Entry to The Pitt is £2 and be sure to take cash with you (there is a cash machine round the corner if you find yourself caught short!) The first time I visited I didn't anticipate just how good the food would be, and how many different stalls I'd just have to try... trust me, you'll want to try everything! I went to The Pitt a few weeks ago and made a point of visiting as many food vendors as possible. I can definitely recommend the gyoza, steak frites, and the halloumi fries. My God, the halloumi fries.
